Victoria Monét McCants (born May 1, 1989) is American singer and songwriter. At a very young age, Victoria would be involved in singing at her youth church and perform with a dancing team. Monet has written many songs for other artists like Ariana Grande, Fifth Harmony, Coco Jones and many more artists.
Early Life[]
Victoria was born in Georgia moved to Sacramento as a child.[1] Since Victoria was amazing in performance arts it was easy for her to take interest in singing and dancing. Her first onstage experience was when she sang in her Catholic school holiday play. Victoria would sing in a youth group at the church but it was dance that initially gave her the sense to become a performer. When Victoria became a student at a arts high school, she started to develop a rehearsal schedule.

2014-2015: Songwriting Success and Purple Reign[]
Outside of dancing, Victoria started to find a new passion for writing. She first started writing poetry with her cousin which then translated into writing her own music. Victoria found out about Rodney Jerkins and then added him on Myspace.[2] After that, Rodney invited Victoria down to Los Angeles where she would audition for a new girl group called Purple Reign. The group was later signed with Motown a year later. The girl group was then dropped from the label.
Victoria's songs were then sold to many big artists like Ariana Grande, Kayne West, Kendrick Lamar and other artists. After having a early successful songwriting career, Atlantic Records CEO Craig Kallman offered Victoria a record deal.[3] Victoria released two EPS with Atlantic Records with her first EP Nightmares & Lullabies: Act 1 on October 20, 2014 and then with her follow-up EP Nightmares & Lullabies: Act 2 on June 17, 2015.
2016-2017: 7/27 Tour and Dangerous Woman Tour[]
Victoria joined girl group Fifth Harmony on their 7/27 Tour as an opening act along with singer JoJo. During the tour, Victoria released her single Do You Like It on July 26, 2016.
After many tragedies like the 2016 Orlando nightclub shooting and the death of singer Christina Grimmie, Monet released a song featuring Ariana Grande called Better Days on soundcloud.[4] On September 22, 2016, Ariana announced on Victoria would be an opening act along with British girl group Little Mix during the Northern American leg of the Dangerous Woman Tour.
2018: Life After Love[]
On February 9, 2018, Victoria released the lead single Freak from her third EP Life After Love: Part 1 along with the pre-order. The EP was released on February 23, 2018.
